The story behind this one is still in the works, but the gist of it is that whoever the Mask Maker is, they aren't really them anymore; they've lost themselves under layers and layers of different personalities and faces and lives. They change who they are to match whatever mask they wear. Some of the changes include how they act, accents they speak with, their humor, and their gender.
When they're not going by the name given to the mask, they call themselves Tea, because it's their favorite drink. Much better than coffee.
